DESCRIPTION
Cells are very small (microscopic) and they units of structure and function for living things. The Cell Theory states the following - All living things are made up of one or more cells. Cells carry out the life processes for living things. New cells arise from old cells through the process of cell division. Cells contain hereditary material (DNA) which contains genetic information. Cells are referred to as the smallest independent units of life. This is because they are the smallest possible unit that can fulfil all of the characteristics of living things
