DESCRIPTION
Lipids are one of the four major organic compounds. Lipid molecules are made up of three fatty acid chains attached to a glycerol molecule. They play roles in energy storage, insulation and protection. Phospholipid molecules are made up of two fatty acid chains attached to a glycerol, phosphate and ethanolamine. Phospholipids are the major component of the cell membrane.
