SPEAK, EVEN IF YOUR VOICE SHAKES Friday the 16th of March, is the eighth National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. Schools have been called on to imagine a world free of bullying and to offer big ideas to help make a positive difference. Tonight, The Project will put forward our big idea. Waleed will do his first Something We Should Talk About segment of 2018 - but this time, it doesn't feature Waleed. Instead we've assembled some of the most influential people in the world to take their place in Waleed's chair and deliver a powerful message against bullying. People like popstars Liam Payne and Troye Sivan, Instagrammers Tammy Hembrow and Kayla Itsines, sports stars Johnathan Thurston and Patrick Dangerfield, and Hollywood A-lister and recent Academy Award nominee, Margot Robbie. Combined, these stars have more than 80 million followers, and each of them will encourage all Australians to talk about bullying, echoing the phrase, "speak, even if your voice shakes", which was left behind on a sketch by Northern Territory teenager Dolly Everett, who took her own life at the start of the year. Suicide is the leading cause of death for young Australians. And with around one in four Australians between the ages of 14 and 25 being bullied each year - half at school, a quarter in workplaces, and a quarter online - bullying is responsible for a huge number of those deaths.
