Fifteen years after the Good Friday peace agreement, Northern Ireland is still deeply divided. Those who want to continue an armed struggle for a unified Ireland (the dissident Republicans), and the Loyalists, who wish to remain part of the UK, have both recently ramped-up the rhetoric. The past twelve months have seen an escalation in violence on both sides with the dissident Republicans taking the significant step of creating a group called the 'New IRA', a name which strikes a chilly chord with those who remember 30 years of IRA violence.
