Palliative Care Nursing: Caring For Yourself

Delivering palliative care can be both hugely rewarding and, at times, very stressful. It is likely that all health workers will be involved in caring for a dying person at some time. Nurses need to be able to manage their own stress to deliver a good standard of care to their patients. This programme provides an introduction to to palliative care stress management. We define stress, and discuss the differences between personal and work-related stress, and discuss the signs of stress-related burnout. This programme will equip viewers with the tools and strategies required to manage stress in palliative care more effectively.
