They were people as real as any of us, whose lives were filled with joys and sorrows. They were boys and girls, men and women who accepted the challenge of loving god and loving all people, no matter when they lived, what way of life they followed or what circumstances they found themselves in. They became saints and heroes because of the way they loved. They are offered as models to us on our journey of faith.
