The Power of One

An English boy living in Africa before and during World War II, who, through his boxing prowess, becomes a symbol of hope in a time of war. After a childhood of being bullied, being the only English boy in a school of Afrikaners, PK hears about the myth of, The Rainmaker, an African legend that tells of a man who will unite all the tribes. After he begins a career as a boxer, the rumours of, The Rainmaker, circulates to the point that his boxing matches are highly attended and he quickly becomes a crowd favourite. Soon, PK takes up the struggle for civil rights in Africa, fighting to build a better future for his troubled, adopted homeland. Directed by John G. Avildsen
